Aftermarket support key for V2500 customers
IAE bolstering MRO portfolio through V-Services
But over that period of time – and as IAE celebrates its 5,000th delivery of its V2500 engine – the overwhelming majority of these durable and highly efficient engines have remained in service. IAE has been offering Fleet Hour Agreements to support engines in service and has now created V-Services to expand its service offerings.
“V-Services defines our expanded portfolio of aftermarket service offerings beyond our traditional Fleet Hour Agreements,” explained Chris Davie, IAE’s senior vice president of Aftermarket and Commercial. “We have been very successful with these long-term service agreements with more than 60% of the V2500-A5 fleet currently under contract and now need to meet a growing demand for more variety from our customers.”
In addition to FHAs, V-Services will offer innovative solutions, including fixed price maintenance, lessor direct options and spare engine solutions to the varying needs of global customers.
“Our goal is to enhance the overall V2500 product experience by providing a wide range of service options, all aimed at delivering predictable maintenance cost, optimized fuel burn and engine reliability,” Davie explained.
IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders comprise of Pratt & Whitney (NYSE: UTX), Rolls-Royce (RR.L.), Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines. Through 2011, over 4,900 V2500 engines have been delivered and nearly 2,000 more engines are on order with close to 200 customers around the world.
